DOWNLOAD PROBLEMS?
Thank you for purchasing my eBook. I’m sorry that you are having problems downloading / opening / registering it. The joys of modern technology …
The most usual thing that happens in this situation is the cutting and pasting of the details, but unknowingly leaving a blank space at the end.
e.g. (username) menopause123456x or (password) 123456789x (where x is a blank space).
I’ve had this happen to me with other things so suggest that it is the first thing to consider. I usually start my highlighting from the end, rather than the beginning, and make sure that I only highlight text and/or numbers. The eBook Pro website actually recommends that you you do not cut and paste, but rather type in the details individually.
Firewall and security settings are another frequent cause of problems with downloads.
The downloads are mostly available as EXE. files but you may receive a warning about
whether you trust the source (I hope that you will -

My bonus eBooks aren’t downloading.
If, like I was when I started all this, your IT skills are a bit ropy, I’ve done

• Click on the “Click here to download” link.
• You should get a box appear – “Opening eBook.exe
• It should ask “would you like to save this file?”
• Click “Save File”.
• It should download – either to your desktop, as it does for me, or perhaps you may be given an option where you want to save the file in which case you can make up a folder of your own. Or you can move it from the desktop to your own file later – that is what I do.
• When you click on the green globe icon you get another box – “Open File – Security Warning”
• Click “Run” and the eBook should open.
• At this stage you may have to register – mine are already on file so it doesn’t ask me to do that now.
• You should now have a folder icon on the desktop. Click on that and click “Run” as step 7 above to open eBook.
Opening ‘zipped’ eBooks
• Click on the download “zipped” link.
• “Opening eBook-
• Click on “Save File”.
• On my PC it downloads to the desktop and leaves a zipped file icon there.
• Click on the icon and then click “Extract all files”.
• Select your destination (I leave mine as desktop and move it later).
• Click “Show extracted files” and “Finish”.
If you would like to give that a go and see how you get on?
It all sounds a bit complicated but in practice, and especially if someone like me
can do it, it’s a doddle really. ![]()
I hope that all goes well and that you enjoy reading the eBooks. If you have any feedback that you would like to share, I would love to hear it. If you have any further difficulties, problems or queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will see if we can try something else.
Kind Regards,
Karen
If there are still any problems, I’ve picked this up from the server site:
eBook Pro: Problems registering your eBook
Solution
If you are having a challenge with registering your eBook, please try the following and see if it helps.
1. Is your internet connection ok? Can you browse to other websites? If so then good
2. Try opening Internet Explorer, go to tools, then "Internet Options"
3. Click on the "Connections" tab and then click on "LAN settings"
4. Make sure the proxy option is turned off
5. Try disabling any firewall or security related software on your PC.
6. Please make sure you type in your username and password and DO NOT copy/paste it from the email you received.
7. Finally, try checking your date/time settings on your computer and make sure they are correct.
